Dear Readers,
Many things about the financial markets and trading have
changed in the 35 years that I have been writing about them
- new markets that can be traded, new instruments to trade
them, enhanced data resources and computer power to analyze
them, expanded information distribution networks to keep up
with them, new electronic means to expedite trading them...In short, today's global markets are vastly different
from those in 1970.
Yet, one thing does not seem to have changed all that much
in those 35 years: Investors' lack of knowledge about trading
and their need for education to learn what financial markets
and trading are all about if they want to participate in them.
In fact, the need for education about trading is even greater
in today's fast-paced markets because of all the innovations
in the last 35 years.
As the editor of Futures Magazine for many years, I heard
many stories about investors who jumped into trading, didn't
understand the risks or the need to develop a trading
mentality, lost their trading stake and then dropped out
before ever seeing the magazine. I often thought that if we
could only have reached more people as they were just
getting into trading, we could have helped them avoid the
costly mistakes that many of them make when they start to
trade.
That's one reason why we started
TraderEducation.com and why I am involved. But the site is
for more than just beginners. Whether you trade stocks,
commodities, currencies, futures or options, we want you to
look to TraderEducation.com as your prime source of trading
education and independent opinions about what's available to
traders today. We know it will take some work to achieve
that status, but that's our goal and we plan to reach it.
Best Wishes,

Darrell R. Jobman

Is all TraderEducation.com
content really free?
The short answer is YES! The longer
answer is the site is
supported through advertising revenue. The advertisers
help cover the costs of the analysts, website hosting, and
other expenses that would typically be passed onto the
trader. We have found that traders like having
advertisers pay the expenses rather than the traders paying
for the educational material. If you are interested in
advertising on this site, please
